The “Volunteer Jam” tours were founded in 1974 by Charlie Daniels and have been a fixture of country music for more than three decades. Charlie himself is a country legend, author of one of country music’s most recognizable anthems “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Charlie Daniels has been song writing and performing for more than 50 years now and is considered one of country music’s original outlaws.

38 Special was formed in Jacksonville in 1975 by Don Barnes and Donnie Van Zant, the younger brother of Lynyrd Skynyrd rocker, Ronnie Van Zant. Taking the typical southern rock sound, 38 Special added some blues-rock overtones and created music uniquely their own. Hits for the band included “Hold on Loosely” and “Caught Up in You.”

To say that Shooter Jennings was born to play music would not be a stretch at all. Child of two of country music’s biggest artists, Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter, Shooter spent his first few years of life on their tour bus and was playing drums by the time he was five. He has now released four country albums in the last three years, played his father in the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line and has his own show on satellite radio. (And no, Shooter is not his given name. He was born Waylon Albright Jennings, but was given the nickname “Shooter” when only hours old and in the middle of a diaper change.)

The concert is FREE with the price of park admission if you would like to bring your lawn chairs and set them up. Lawn chairs can be set up as soon as the park opens the day of the show. Wild Adventures does offer a reserve seating area and you can purchase reserve seats at an additional charge to park admission. Park admission is required to see the show and must be purchased separately as it is not included in the price of reserve seating.
