Wild Adventures Welcomes New Addition
Valdosta, GA - Bariki the giraffe gets a female companion.
Valdosta, GA- It’s a southern belle for Wild Adventures’ southern beau. Bariki the giraffe will have a new girlfriend when the park takes delivery on a female giraffe this Thursday. Local media can take the first peek at the park’s newest resident Friday at 9 am.
The ten-year old reticulated giraffe hales from a private farm in Mississippi, which means she is already acclimated to the weather conditions found in this region. Although she stands 13 feet tall, she is considered petite by giraffe standards. The new arrival will immediately be introduced to Bariki through side-by-side enclosures, in which they will stay several days. They will be placed together as soon as they are comfortable with each other.
The arrival puts the park’s giraffe count at two with a hope for more from this couple in the future.
